Task View
Pin Outlook Mail or Any App to the Taskbar
Click on the search button on bottom left (magnify glass) type in outlook, right click on outlook 2013 icon that pops up and select more, click on pin to taskbar. Pinning items to the taskbar will give you shortcuts along the bottom of your screen.
Open Folders From the Taskbar
Pin a folder that you use often directly to the taskbar to make accessing files quick and easy! VERY Useful!

In Windows 10 you can search websites directly from the Taskbar. Web pages will open in your default browser.

Windows App Store
Search the Windows App Store to find apps to extend the function and use on your laptop running Windows 10. If you are unable to download a particular app, please contact the help desk (x1111)

Tablet Mode
Windows 10 Tablet Mode is a setting that allows your laptop to be more touch friendly when in Table mode. The applications will run full screen and the start screen will be replaced by your Start menu. When you open the laptop lid all the way, you will be asked if you wish to go into Tablet Mode. When you close your lid or put it back in laptop position, you will be asked if you wish to exit Tablet Mode.
You can turn Table Mode on/off completely in the settings (Start / Settings / System / Tablet Mode) You can also enter Tablet mode by clicking the notifications icon in the Taskbar, then table mode. |

Change the Way MS Word Attachments Open from Email
When opening a Word email attachment, the default setting is to open in a display view. To change the view, in the Word menu select View/Edit Document.

Changing Touch-pad Settings
You may with to enable or disable touch gestures for your laptop's touch pad. For example, if you are typing and the window frequently zooms in and out, you may be touching the touch-pad inadvertently while typing. You can disable touch zoom to prevent this from happening.

Change the Direction for 2 Finger Scrolling on your Touch Pad
After your laptop is re-imaged to Windows 10, the 2 finger scrolling on your touchpad (mouse) is set to reverse scrolling. You can change this in the touchpad settings. Follow the directions in the video below:

Airplane Mode / No Internet Connection??
If you lose Internet connection on your laptop, you may have accidentally pressed the airplane mode key which has a picture of an airplane on it (F12 key on the HS keyboard and F11 on the MS keyboard). If you notice a red X on the wireless icon, click the Airplane mode key (also has a picture of an airplane on the key) to turn the wireless back on. It will take a few seconds to connect.

Docking Station Advice
It is advised that when unplugging your laptop from a docking station that you wait 15-30 seconds before closing the lid. Closing the lid puts the laptop to sleep and if it has not processed the removal from the doc before it goes to sleep, it can cause freezing of programs and/or the inability of the laptop to reconnect to the doc when plugged back in.

Change your Password
Press the ALT / Control / Delete keys together at the same time on your keyboard. From the menu, select Change a Password.
When you change your password it will automatically change for all of your FM accounts (Google, SchoolTool, MLP, etc.)
